Nifty after Fifty Purchases VDI's Interactive Driving Simulation System For Its Premier Franchise Location

Developed for people over age 50, Nifty after Fifty chooses Virtual Defensive Driving Course curriculum allowing elderly drivers to practice their driving skills.

San Ramon, Calif. - Virtual Driver Interactive (VDI), provider of driver improvement simulation systems for corporations and communities, today announced that Nifty after Fifty in Whittier, California will utilize the Virtual DDC curriculum to help the franchise's elderly clientele and improve their driving skills.

The first of the new centers, Nifty after Fifty was created by 72-year old physician, Dr. Sheldon Zinberg, to improve greater wellness and lasting independence for people over the age of fifty.  Aside from the Virtual DDC system, Nifty after Fifty offers clinically supervised fitness and strength training, brain stimulation programs as well as social networking, a med-spa for non-surgical facial rejuvenation and body contouring, and a nutritional guidance and weight control program.

Virtual DDC provides the same course content as the National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course 6/8 while engaging clientele with the ability to practice what is taught in the curriculum via interactive simulations, giving them actual behind-the-wheel experience in a safe, controlled environment.

Virtual DDC requires trainees to pass 17 different interactive simulations, including: basic defensive driving concepts; the proper use of occupant restrain systems; how physical and emotional conditions affect driving ability; dealing with uncontrollable driving conditions; the top six unsafe driving behaviors; and defensive driving techniques for dealing with driving hazards and risks.

"We need to practice in a safe setting to sharpen our reaction-time, build our confidence and rebuild the confidence of others in our driving abilities," said Dr. Zinberg.  "Many insurance programs may offer a discount on liability insurance for those that complete the program and who are 55 years of age or older."

"Our Virtual DDC curriculum can help address an important need in the elderly community," said Bob Davis, CEO and president of Virtual Driver Interactive.  "VDI's system provides Nifty after Fifty clientele with the skills and practice they need in a safe, controlled environment."
