Virtual Driver Interactive Unveils New LX Virtual Trainer
Platform Designed to Keep Employees Safe and Costs Down
VDI's virtual trainers protect employers' human and financial resources
El Dorado Hills, Calif—April 6, 2009—Virtual Driver Interactive (VDI), provider of driver improvement and simulation systems for corporations and communities, announces its new LX Platform. As with all VDI trainers, the new LX Platform includes VDI's proprietary VDDC™ (Virtual Defensive Driving Course) curriculum.
The six-part VDDC™ curriculum was developed using examples of hazardous driving situations encountered every day in the real world, allowing drivers to improve driving skills without the risk of injury.
"Considering vehicle crashes cost employers approximately $60 billion annually, we felt it was important to offer a streamlined, environmentally friendly product to further assist our clients with reducing expenses," said Bob Davis, president of Virtual Driver Interactive. "Now our clients can cut costs as a direct result of reducing risk and by taking full advantage of our new, streamlined product offering."
The LX Platform is a lightweight, more portable solution that can fit through a standard door frame and is available with a 29- or 38-inch monitor. Unlike other single-screen options on the market, the LX Platform's super-wide monitor design offers a 180-degree field of view with no monitor frames to hide critical road hazards.
Custom-designed using the latest materials, the LX Platform is significantly more energy efficient than previous models. Other LX features include realistic controls, such as a steering wheel and foot pedals, an ergonomical and comfortable learning environment, and seamless wheelchair accessibility.
Companies can also customize the LX Platform with company colors and logos allowing them to take full ownership of the important, life-saving training system. No complex set-up is required—once it is plugged in, it's ready to go.
