Virtual Driver Interactive Announces StreetReady™ 5.0
Virtual Driving Curriculum for Teens
VDI's StreetReady™ 5.0 is the industry's only virtual driver training curriculum
capable of projecting a full 210° field of view from its super-wide single screen models
New York State School Boards Association Annual Conference—October 16, 2009—Virtual Driver Interactive (VDI), provider of engaging and compelling simulation systems for all aspects of driver safety, today announced its latest software upgrade: StreetReady™ 5.0 for new drivers.
While 5.0 includes many small improvements, the most significant upgrades are:
NEW FEATURE BENEFIT
Simultaneous
full-view projection |
An innovation that allows teachers to teach an entire class simultaneously and students will see the same full view as displayed on the monitor.
|
Enhanced highway drives |
The enhanced highway drives are designed to increase the learning experience for students. By placing students in a realistic highway setting with heavy traffic they will be better prepared for the real world.
|
Pre- and post-training
assessment |
Students and teachers are now able to monitor and assess students’ newly acquired skills. VDI is the only simulation vendor to provide in-depth, numeric-based assessment scores that report specific infractions made throughout the entire training process. |
StreetReady™ 5.0 is available on all VDI models, including the dVT desktop series, the LX mid-cab series, and the NDX306 full-cab model. Unlike any other simulation vendors, VDI’s dVT and LX virtual trainers offer a super wide single-screen option that displays and projects a full 210° field of view, exceeding the industry’s requirements for effective simulation training.
"This new product offering is a true educational breakthrough. Until now, driver education teachers did not have the option to project the entire screen for group learning,” said Bob Davis, President/CEO of Virtual Driver Interactive. "The new features coupled with VDI’s practical price point makes for a product no other driving simulation vendor can offer."
